Let It Snow!

Last weekend, Nathan headed up to the local hills to check out what the recent storms brought our way. And whaddya know...Nathan found snow! There wasn't very much, but definitely enough to get him excited. It was cold, it was wet and it crunched under his feet. He loved it and he can't wait to go back!

Ho Ho Ho!

Nathan couldn't wait to see Santa this year. We talked about it, we prepped for it...Nathan had even been practicing his "ho ho ho's". He patiently waited in line (outside in the cold and the rain) to have his one shot with Santa. Here's how it went down.

After breaking free from Santa's grip, Nathan gave us a courtesy smile so that we could snap the pic and get the hell out of there.

On the way out, he stumbled upon the gingerbread men who were more his size and right up his alley!

He's Back!

Nathan just got back from a long, well-deserved vacation in Costa Rica! He's been there before, so he knew what to expect. For nearly two weeks, he did nothing but play, explore, relax and surf his days away. Life is good for Nathan.

Se Habla Espanol

Señor Nathan is officially bilingual! We, of course, speak english to him…but his nanny speaks only spanish. I was starting to think that he wasn’t saying very many words for a 16 month old, but then I realized that most of his sounds were actually him speaking a foreign language. In fact, I’m starting to think that Nathan speaks more spanish than he does english.

He has been really into counting things lately, but instead of “uno, dos, tres”, it’s “dos, dos, dos”. He’s also getting quite good at recognizing when he has two of something. Nathan loves the number two (or should I say, the number dos).

Eat Your Wheaties!

It happens every morning. As soon as Nathan sees Jeremy with his bowl of cereal, he begs for a bite and demands that it be shared. Sometimes, Jeremy even tries to sneak away with his breakfast so that Nathan won't see him. But it doesn't work...Nathan knows the sound of the spoon clanking against the bowl. So, up goes Nathan into Jeremy's lap and they finish off the cereal together.

House

Trucks, scooters, tools and rocks. These are the things that Nathan used to play with. And, now? Well, now it seems he would rather feed daddy, push the baby and give mommy a bath. Yep...Nathan loves to play house!

Don't worry, Jeremy. As you can see, he still likes his screwdriver...

Happy Halloween!!

What a great night! Nathan had lots of fun and it didn't take him long to figure out what was going on. He was a little unsure at first, but when he realized that super nice people were giving him sweet treats, he was loving it. At one point, after tasting the candy bar that had just been passed out to him...he turned right around and tried to march his way back up to the same house for seconds.

And he's off! Heading out the door with his costume on and bag in hand...

Nathan's first house and he chooses...the graham crackers?? What a rookie! But he caught on quickly and redeemed himself by stocking up on peanut butter cups, chocolate bars and lollipops.

Forget the spooky ghosts, scary vampires and other creepy creatures...one of Nathan's most terrifying Halloween encounters was with this oversized raccoon.

Party At My Crib!

Nathan's a pretty good napper on most days. Luckily, it really doesn't take much to get him down. Just a few hugs and kisses. Oh, and maybe a couple other things. Let's see....today it was a giant panda, satin pillow, blanket, several binkies, pirate, monkey, birdie, teddy bear and crinkle toy. We had to put our foot down when he wanted Grandma's ceramic goose to join the party.

Ride 'Em Cowboy

Nathan's first pony ride! He had a great time (not a single tear was shed). Definitely a natural...

Bzzzzzz

Even though it's not quite Halloween yet, Nathan had a chance to sport his costume for an evening out this weekend. We all headed over to a friend's house for a birthday party...and the kids got to wear their Halloween costumes!

Our little bee...

Nathan takes his turn and a big swing at the piñata...

Nathan knew just what to do when the candy hit the ground. He managed to find (and eat) every last skittle.

Best Toy Ever

The swiffer! You should see my floors...they are so clean. And Nathan can't get enough of it! Last night, he cleaned my dining room, hallway and kitchen. Seriously, why didn't I think of this sooner??

He had so much fun (and did such a great job) that we are thinking about showing him how to use the lawn mower this weekend.

Punkin' Patch

With Halloween just around the corner, we decided to treat Nathan with a trip to the pumpkin patch! There were lots of animals to pet and a ton of pumpkins to play with. And best of all...his bestie, Mia, showed up to enjoy the day with him.

Daredevil

This may be the last picture/video/post of Nathan and a slide. Why, you ask? Well, he has just conquered the biggest and baddest slide at the park. Not only did he go down again and again, but he squealed and giggled with delight from top to bottom. And, oh...we've learned that he's definitely not afraid of heights!

Big Hair Day

Today was a big day. We took Nathan to the salon for his very first haircut!! It went about as well as I thought it would. I mean, you can't really expect much when you strap a toddler down and come at him with a sharp pair of scissors.

At first, Nathan was stoked when he saw this super cool car. He was more than happy to hop aboard...

He started to get suspicious when a stranger approached him with spray bottle in hand and began wetting down his har...

It didn't take long before Nathan had it all figured out. And he was not happy about it...

But it was so worth it...look how handsome he is!

And no hard feelings. Nathan scored a big cookie at the end and walked away one very satisfied customer!

Tooltally Obsessed!

Remember the toolbox that we gave Nathan a few weeks ago? Well, it didn’t take long before Jeremy wanted to upgrade him to something bigger and better. Needless to say, Nathan loves, loves, loves his new tool bench! There are too many holes, hooks, screws, buttons, widgets and tools to even count. It’s pretty much Nathan’s idea of heaven on earth. He has been playing with this thing for three weeks. Everyday.Non.Stop.
