Wait...you're WHERE?

I had to spend most of this week out of town on a business trip...but like any good mom would do, I called home each night to find out if everything was going ok. You know, I wanted to make sure that Nathan ate dinner, took a bath and went to bed without a hitch. Well...I thought it was strange when I tried calling the house but couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I was a bit surprised when I finally tracked them down at, of all places, Baskin-Robbins! It seems that Jeremy and Nathan had been "sneaking" out of the house every night to share a scoop of peanut butter and chocolate ice-cream. Nice. Aren't daddies just the best!!

Bed & Bath

Bathtime and bedtime don't get any better than this for Nathan! Jeremy hopped in the tub with with him for a some bath fun and then it was time for a little play before bed.

Ah, yes...a nice, quiet, calming game of airplane! Just what Nathan needs right before hitting the sack.

Mr. Manners

Mealtime with Nathan is loads of fun! Sometimes he actually eats the food...but most of the time he's smooshing it, flicking it, spitting it out or dropping it over the side of his highchair. It's quite exhausting getting him to swallow even just a few bites. When he didn't eat much dinner tonight, I thought for sure that he'd be up for a big bowl of ice cream! Well, here's how that went...

Tagger

Nathan got so excited when I took him outside and handed him a piece of chalk! He couldn't believe he was given free reign and an endless canvas (although, I did eventually have to pull the plug on all the fun when he decided that the house would look prettier if it were a nice shade of blue).

Scootin'

I can't believe it! Last week it was the big boy slide....and now this. Nathan has figured out how to ride his scooter all by himself. You should see him zipping back and forth in front of the house. Ok, he doesn't really "zip", but he's definitely moving!! Somebody stop him...he is growing up way too fast.

Tool Time

If you know Jeremy, you know that he loves tools. Well, guess what! Nathan loves them too. LOVES them. We gave Nathan a toolbox today so he could have his own set just like daddy...and he thought these tools were the most.fun.ever. After helping fix Jeremy's bike, Nathan toted his screwdriver around "fixing" everything he saw. He also wanted to eat with it, bathe with it and bring it to bed with him. I'm pretty sure he is obsessed. Hmmm...future mechnanic or contractor maybe??

Lil' Swimmer

Nathan is not exactly a huge fan of swimming. But, we are trying to get him ready for our big vacay to Costa Rica (because I plan on spending a TON of time poolside while we are there). This means that Nathan needs to step up his game and get a little more comfy in the water. So, we've enrolled him in a swimming class and he kicked off the weekend with his first lesson! I think he did a pretty darn good job...

Delish!

Nathan has been really under the weather lately. And when Nathan gets sick, he basically refuses to eat. He came down with a virus a few days ago and that has meant three days of nothing but milk and wheat thins. I know, yummy, right? But today he was finally feeling better again and I really wanted him to chow down on some good eats for dinner. So, I decided to make his most fave dish ever...spaghetti! Nathan "mmmmmmed" "mmmmmmed" his way through dinner. He couldn't have been happier!

Big Boy

Nathan is officially a big boy today! We went to the park and Jeremy talked me in to letting Nathan ride down the big boy slide all by himself. After much hesitation, I agreed. And I had no reason to worry because Nathan loved it! He went down again. and again. and again.

Nathan begins the long and arduous climb to the top...

Getting excited as he nears the summit...

I told you it was a big boy slide...look how high he is!

At the top, about to make the drop!

One, two, three...WEEEEE!!!!!!

True Blue

In honor of the Dallas Cowboys' season opener this coming weekend, I'm releasing a couple of never-before-seen photos! Nathan is a huuuuge fan and caught most of the games last year...well, actually, he slept through most of the games. But, anyway, isn't he just so cute in his Cowboys garb (thanks, Uncle Paul!!). These were taken when he was seven months old! I really need to find him some new gear for this season. Anyone know where I can get a super small Romo jersey??

Agua

Nathan rarely drinks water (from a cup, that is). I can give him cold, clean, purified, filtered, refreshing water and he will take one sip...or two if we're lucky. However, he has no problem slurping up the who-knows-how-old standing water from a puddle or flower pot. He also loves saltwater, lake water, bath water, and water from any swimming pool. So, we decided to put him outside with a washtub and hose! It seemed like a good compromise...

BFF

Nathan had a lunch date at the park today with his BFF, Mia! They played together, spent some time on the swings and dined on sandwiches and fruit. She shared her canteloupe and he shared his pears.

Nathan approaches Mia with a stick in hand. He couldn't find any flowers so this was the best he could do.

Nathan was really happy to see her...he thought it was great having a pal to run around the park with.

It's not easy getting these two to look at the camera at the same time. The dog across the way was much more fun to look at!

Uh-oh!

Nathan found a new way to ride his tricycle. Great.
